District SBDM Coordinator

The Powell County School Professional Growth and Evaluation Plan is designed to promote the improvement of instruction, establishment of staff accountability and to provide support for individual personnel decisions. Improved instruction and accountability will be achieved through continuous assessment of individual performance and provision for professional growth. The degree to which the certified employee successfully meets the expectations of this evaluation plan will be considered in making individual personnel decisions. Properly implemented, this plan will ensure the highest performance standards expected by the Powell County school system and community.

All districts in the state of Kentucky are currently piloting a new statewide Professional Growth and Evaluation System (PGES).  The system was developed by the Kentucky Department of Education and a teacher and principal effectiveness steering committee.  The new system will measure teacher and leader effectiveness and guide professional growth and improvement.
