To prepare secondary students to apply academic technical knowledge for entry level employment into a health science career and/or postsecondary education based upon completion of comprehensive career planning activities, a rigorous and coherent sequence of related courses, national skill standards and rich work-based learning experiences.  Allied Health is the career major offered in this program.  Students can participate in the health services career and technical student organization - Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA).

Pre- Nursing
Principles of Health Science (9)
Medical Terminology/Emergency Procedures (10-11)
Body Structures and Functions (10-11)
Medicaid Nurse Aide (12)
Students must take all four courses to complete the Allied Health career major.  Upon completing three credits, students will take the EKG Technology/Technician KOSSA assessment. KOSSA assesses a students' employability and occupational specific skills.  Students may intern their senior year once they have completed all four courses or have obtained three credits and are scheduled in their capstone class - EKG Technician.  Students must maintain a "B" average, have good attendance, and be approved by the teacher and assistant principal. Although the student is not compensated for the work done through the internship, it provides valuable hands on work experience in a supervised setting.
