CTE - Agriculture

Agricultural Education prepares students for successful careers, builds awareness and develops leadership for the food, fiber and natural resource systems.  We offer the following career majors:  Agricultural Power, Structural, Technical Systems; and Animal Science Systems.  Students can also participate in the agriculture career and technical student organization - The National FFA Organization.

Students must take all four courses to complete the career major.  Upon completing three credits, students will take the related KOSSA assessment for the specific career major. KOSSA assesses a students' employability and occupational specific skills.  Students may co-op their senior year once they have completed all four courses or have obtained three credits and are scheduled in their capstone class - Ag Employability Skills.  Students must maintain a "B" average, have good attendance, and be approved by the teacher and assistant principal.  Cooperative education provides valuable hands-on work experience in a supervised setting.  Students who participate receive compensation for their work.
