Although I grew up on the out-skirts of Chicago, I consider myself a Kentucky Girl. I have three wonderful children and three beautiful grandchildren that I worship and adore. I feel very blessed to be in a position where I can teach and make a positive impact on the people God has placed around me.
I currently hold a Master's degree in Principalship/ Instructional Leadership from Eastern Kentucky University. I am also an E/LA Content Network Leader for our district, a member of PCMS Leadership Team, and Chairperson for the PCMS English Department. I am also privileged to have completed the three year training for Laying the Foundation summer workshops (Pre-Advanced Placement Courses). Two summers ago, I had the unique opportunity to join H.E.N. (Holocaust Education Network) and be a participant in a 40-hour professional development over social justice. It was life-changing!
I have been teaching for over 20 years and 16 of those years have been at Powell County Middle School. I absolutely LOVE my job! I genuinely consider it a privilege to be a teacher and I'm looking forward to this school year.
