Process for "Once Upon a Giant"

Katherine F photo process for Once Upon a Giant

The first thing I did was create a plan for my picture. I wanted to make it look like a giant was stepping on somebody. I asked two people to help me by being in my picture.

I positioned my two friends so that it looked like a huge foot was stepping on a person. I took my picture with a learn pad tablet. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be and it took us several tries to get the sizes and positions just right.

I chose this photo as the best and uploaded it from the learnpad to my STLP coach.

I looked at the rubric and rules paper with my coach.  It said that minimal editing is okay.  So, the last thing I did was just crop my picture using a computer and software called paint.net. The reason was to make the boot in my photo appear larger and fill the frame. I also thought about the rule of thirds to improve my composition. I wanted my victim’s clutching hands to be at one place where the third lines intersect.

My photo looks like the boot belongs to a giant from a fairy tale so I titled it Once Upon a Giant.
