Planning: 3rd period (10:26-12:14)

What you will need: For this class you will need a composition notebook to use for your classroom journal. As we will use these journals daily, a second composition book may be necessary as the year progresses. You will also need pencils/ink pens.

Classroom/Behavior Expectations:

  1. Cell Phone Use: The use of cell phones will not be permitted in my classroom. This includes not only class working time, but also entering and exiting the classroom.
  2. No chewing gum will be permitted in my classroom.
  3. Each day when you come to my class, I expect that you are prepared and ready with both your journal and a writing utensil.
  4. Entering the classroom: When you enter my classroom, you are expected to sit quietly and get out materials. We will then quietly begin working on that day’s Bell Ringer and I can…statements.
  5. Hallway procedure: When walking down the hall, we will walk quietly, single file, with one foot in the gray area.
  6. Class dismissal: You will be dismissed from this class when I (or the adult in charge) gives you permission to go to your next class.
  7. You are expected to respect this classroom as well as everyone/everything in it. Respect classmates and all adults at all times. Keep your work area neat and clean, and put any materials used back in their appropriate place.
  8. Stay seated unless given permission otherwise.
  9. If I (or any adult in charge) am using the phone or speaking to a visitor, you are expected to show respect- NO talking or misbehavior.
  10. Throwing objects of any kind will NOT be permitted in this classroom.
  11. Students will be asked to read one book per six week period for this class. We will explain this in further detail as class progresses.
  12. If a homework assignment is given you are expected to turn that assignment in by the required due date. If you are late turning your assignment in, point deductions will adhere to the homework grading policy listed on the syllabus for your particular class.
  13. Be in class on time! Each student is expected to be in the room at the correct start time for class. Being late to class will not be tolerated.
