The Powell County Board of Education places a strong emphasis on the health of our students. All children entering the Powell County School System must have valid immunizations. This immunization policy is strictly enforced for all schools throughout the district.
Our system is fortunate to have a strong working relationship with the Powell County Health Department and local physicians. This relationship has enabled Powell County to rank in the top percentage of counties with the highest immunization rates.
The Powell County Board of Education provides student insurance for all students. If parents/guardians don't have insurance, the student insurance claim is submitted for accidents related to school and sports.
