Bowen Elementary is Regional High Attendance Day Winner

Each year the Kentucky Directors of Pupil Personnel Association sponsors a High Attendance Day competition.  They award prizes for state winners in small and large elementary school, small and large middle school, and small and large high school categories.   There are 17 KDPP regions in the state of Kentucky, and Powell County is in Region 16 with the districts of Berea Independent, Clark County, Estill County, Garrard County, Lincoln County, and Madison County.

This year's competition was held September 20, 2017 and Bowen Elementary has been named the regional winner for Region 16 in the small elementary category with 98.88% attendance that day!!  Regional winners are sent on to the KDPP Treasurer for comparison with other schools in the state and we should hear soon whether their percentage was enough to win the state competition or if another school had higher attendance.  Congratulations to Bowen Elementary!!
