Human Services empowers individuals and families across the life span to manage the challenges of living and working in a diverse, global society. Our unique focus is on families, work and their interrelationships. The following career majors are offered in this program: Family and Consumer Management and Early Childhood Education. Students can participate in the family and consumer sciences career and technical student organization - Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA).

Students must take all four courses to complete the career major. Upon completing three credits, students will take the related KOSSA assessment for the specific career major. KOSSA assesses a students' employability and occupational specific skills. Early Childhood Education students may co-op their senior year once they have completed all four courses or have obtained three credits and are scheduled in their capstone class - Child Services I. Students must maintain a "B" average, have good attendance, and be approved by the teacher and assistant principal. Cooperative education provides valuable hands-on work experience in a supervised setting. Students who participate receive compensation for their work. |
